St. Patrick's Day

I picked up a Lucky Leprechaun the other day from preschool.
Lucky and cute!

Maybe this is the same Leprechaun that fell into our trap that we made a couple days later on St. Patrick's Day. He managed to get away with all the gold coins without leaving a trace though. Sneaky little thing.

I found a treasure hunt idea on one of my favorite craft blogs to do for the kids. It was so easy to put together. Download and print. Hooray! I love simple and fun.

The kids had a fantastic time chasing around the house and yard to find their hidden treasure.

It was SO windy. Hayzen could barely stand still and keep his eyes open.

"You are my Pot of Gold
at the End of the Rainbow!"

For dinner that night we had GREEN lettuce wraps, GREEN jello, GREEN grapes and GREEN milk.

The lettuce wraps were another pin I found on Pinterest, a P.F. Chang's knock-off recipe. Can I just say that I've pretty much wanted to eat these every single night since St. Patrick's Day. They are TO DIE FOR! And I'm not even kidding. They're already on the dinner menu again for tomorrow night. :) I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Bedtime Notes

Avery is so funny and sweet and caring and kind. I just love her SO much!

Lately she's been leaving secret notes for me and Justin on our pillows at night. It makes me happy, and so cute that I almost want to cry. Here are just a few that I've received from my little tender hearted Lady, typed exactly how it's written.

"I Love you mommy,
I hope you have a
great day at home!
Love, Avery :)"

"HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
Dear mom and dad,
I hope you had a great Valentines day!
And I want you to know how
great it is to have you as my
Parents. And when I say I Love
you I can't even tell you how
much I Love you. It's because
I Love you more than any
thing. And so I made you a bracelet.
I hope you like it. Oh and the
Pink bracelet is mom's and the green
bracelet is dad's. Oh and thank you
for the m and m's and the drink,
and the card, and the sweetes fish,
and the movie! I Love you!"

"You were my
treasure on St. Patricks
day! And you have always
been an example to
me and now I want
to be an example to
you! I love you! {heart}
LOVE, Avery :)"

Melts my heart. Isn't she the sweetest? I love my little secret notes and hope she continues to leave them for me on my pillow FOREVER!

I love you so so much my Avery girl, more than words can even say.
You are my sunshine!

Pirate.Piggyback.Piano

Quinn was invited to his friends Pirate birthday party. The invitation said to dress like a pirate but I only got Quinney to do it long enough for me to snap this picture. It isn't the greatest costume anyway, just a paper hat and eye patch, but Quinn INSISTED he was NOT going to wear it to the party. So he didn't. Silly boy. Cute lil' pirate anyway!

Quinn and Hayzen's new favorite thing is piggyback rides. Well, it turns out Quinn is the piggyback giver and Hayzen is the piggyback rider but, they have a grand ole' time all day long, giggling all the way. They both love it!

Ever since we got my great great grandma's piano, the kids have loved playing it. Hayzen especially loves to play it throughout the day. He actually doesn't sound all that bad either, he doesn't pound on it like you might expect. He's a piano STAR already!

Kindergarten Shots :(

I took Quinney in a couple weeks ago for his Kindergarten check-up. The good news is, my little cutie is as healthy as can be! The bad news is, he had to get his kindergarten shots. Four. FOUR shots! Two in each leg. Poor thing.

I knew he was a pretty nervous about the shots but he did so good. He was so brave and didn't even cry. The nurse rewarded him with some stickers and a sucker. A few minutes later, when I was helping Hayzen get his coat on, I heard my little Quinney whimper. I looked over at him and he was white as a ghost. I put my arm around him and asked if he was okay. A few seconds later, he threw up. Luckily I could tell it was coming so I rushed him over to the garbage can and most of it went in there. I felt SO bad for him. He wasn't feeling the best that morning anyway, he woke up with a little cold/runny nose. I wasn't sure if he'd caught a flu bug as well or if it was just a fluke thing. In the end, it turned out to be just a fluke thing, thank goodness! I think my little guys nerves must have just got the best of him that morning.

When we got home he laid on the couch for awhile, played his V.Smile, ate his sucker and watched a movie.

Hayzen wasn't quite sure what to do with himself with Quinn not feeling well. So he rested on the other couch until Quinn was ready to play.

By the afternoon, Quinn was feeling much better and was ready to go get his ice cream cone that I had promised him for being so brave through his shots.

He was so sweet and asked if we could wait for Avery to get home from school so she could get an ice cream with us.

That's my boy!
My cute, brave, sweet little boy!

Sunday Snack

What better place than Daddy's belly to enjoy your lazy Sunday afternoon snack?

So cute!

4.5 weeks = baby

We're getting down to the home stretch now. 4 1/2 weeks to go. Yahoo!

We can't wait to have our little babe here with us, we are all very excited! Will he look like Quinn and have light hair and blue eyes or will he look like Hayzen with dark hair and dark brown eyes? Or, will he have his very own look? Perhaps red hair and green eyes, we don't have that combination in our family yet? :) Hey, and who's to say that just because he's a boy he'll look like one of his brothers. Maybe he'll have light hair and hazel eyes like his sister... I'm just anxiously awaiting to see, it will be so fun.

We're picking up the family treasure from Mom and Dad's on Saturday. Remember me posting about this just before Hayzen was born? A family treasure indeed!

A few more things we need to get before our babe comes:

a car seat and stroller ~ fairly important!
baby wash and baby lotion ~ Yum! I love the smell of baby lotion.
newborn diapers and wipes ~ also pretty important

And I think that's all folks. We are ready!
...physically anyway, mentally I'm not so sure. I'm a little nervous about being a Mother of 4. :/

Is it too late to change my mind?
ha ha! Just kidding!

Our Happy Valentine's Day

We woke up on Valentine's morning with surprise Valentine's from Daddy. The kids each got a bag of Valentine M&M's and I got a card and some BEAUTIFUL tulips. My FAVORITE!

Aren't they gorgeous? Justin added the ribbon on the vase all by himself. :)

I love love love them. Awww, makes me happy.

Avery had a great time at school giving and receiving all sorts of Valentine's. When she got home, her and Quinn showed each other all the fun Valentine's they got.

We ordered take out from Olive Garden for our fancy Valentine's dinner. It was YUMMY. I set my Valentine's out to Justin and the kids at their places just before dinner.

They loved them.

I found the cute swedish fish printables on pinterest, I love that place!

Yeah! Lady and the Tramp.

After dinner we decorated our delicious Valentine cookies. With buttercream frosting in three different colors, red hots, Valentine M&M's, and two kinds of sprinkles you seriously can't go wrong. Can you?

Here is my perfectly frosted, perfectly sprinkled oh-so-cute Valentine cookie. I enjoyed every. single. bite. right down to the very last crumb.

Justin was holding out on me all day with these delicious chocolate covered strawberries. Another of my FAVORITE things for Valentine's Day. He surprised me with them after the kids were in bed...he knows I can be a stickler when it comes to sharing delectable chocolate covered strawberries. :) What a thoughtful Guy.
But seriously, who can blame me?

Happy Valentine's Day!
