I'm Stuffed!

Thanksgiving dinner was oh so yummy, the smorgasbord of pies for dessert were even better, and being surrounded by my family for two straight days was the best blessing of all!

Of course I forgot my dippy camera or you know there'd be plenty of pictures of the delicious homemade pies on here! :) I ate way too much (just as it should be on Thanksgiving), sat around way too often and enjoyed enormous amounts of leftovers!

Now let the Christmas festivities begin!!!

Yeah, Disney on Ice

We had such a fun time last Saturday! Avery and I went to Disney on Ice, and Justin and Quinn went to the Discovery Gateway Museum. We didn't think Quinn would sit there that long so Justin opted to take him to the Museum instead. :) Justin did take pictures of their little outing but he used the film camera so they are in the process of getting developed, when I get them back I will share them too. He said that every time he got the big ole' camera out to take a picture, people would stare at him like he was in the dark ages or something, have people already forgotten those camera's? :) He said it was pretty funny!

Disney on Ice!!!

Before we went down to find our seats we stopped off at the consession stand to get us a drink and a big old bucket of popcorn! Here is cute Avery in her seat anxiously awaiting the skating to start.

Just the two of us!

It was such a cute and exciting show! We saw tons of different Disney characters from Lion King to Pinocchio to Toy Story to Beauty and the Beast to the Incredibles. Here are a few pictures of some of the many fun characters that we saw. Let the skating begin!

The Mickey Mouse gang

Marlin, Dory and Bruce

Belle running from the nasty Beast

Avery loved this part, they had all the princesses and their princes come out one at a time to skate and then they all did a skating number together. See if you can find which one is which in the picture. There's Ariel and Prince Eric, Belle and the (transformed) Beast, Pocahontis and John Smith, Snow White and Prince Charming, Cinderella and her Prince and Jasmine and Aladdin. SO fun! We had great seats too!

Sorry some of these pictures are so dark, but this is Ponocchio. You can also see Jimminey Cricket in the shadows at the bottom of the picture.

Here's Mulan and that fabulous dragon! It looked so neat skating around on the ice, I wonder how many people were under there skating it around!?!

Next came the Lion King. Pumbaa was so stinkin cute!!! He skated on all fours and he would bounce around along the ice, it was so cute to watch!

Timon, Pumbaa, Nala and Simba. Hey how'd you like to wear that Simba costume??? Pretty tight!!! :)

At the end, all the characters came back out for the grand finale!

It was such a fun show!!! I'm so glad I got to take Avery! We LOVED it!!! When Justin asked Avery if she liked it she said, while throwing her arms up into the air, "it was awesome!"

After the show and the Museum, we stopped off at Firehouse Pizzera for a little dinner. YUM-O!!! I am so happy they opened one of these down here now, we have been missing it!

I have to laugh at this picture of myself! If you zoom in on it you'll notice I have a big old somethin somethin stored away for later in the middle of my front teeth! ha ha! And it wasn't even on purpose! (one of my favorite past times is to put something in my teeth on purpose and then talk and smile to the waitress and anyone who walks by!...pretty nerdy I know, but oh so fun!!!)

After dinner, we stopped off at Grandma and Grandpa Smith's house for a visit! What a fun filled family day we had! I loved every minute of it!!! :)

Finally something to post!

Except now there is something wrong with my camera's memory card. Dang it! I don't know how everyone else's memory cards work when uploading pictures to your computers, but usually mine just uploads the last chunk of pictures that I've taken, the pictures that are new since the last time I uploaded them. Well, on Saturday I took Avery to Disney on Ice, which was so fun by the way, but when I got home and tried to upload my pictures, the dang memory card or computer, I'm not sure which one is at fault, wanted to upload every single picture that was on my memory card. Total pictures 928, and I only need the last 20 or so because the rest of them have already been uploaded into files on my computer. I don't want two files of all my pictures, plus, it will just take up space that doesn't need to be taken up! Uuggg! The problem is, I don't want to erase the pictures already filed on my computer from my memory card just yet because I haven't gotten a CD made of them, or printed any for scrapbooking/memories. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I might just have to go get a CD made and then erase the pictures from my memory card and then do my Disney on Ice post. Which might take a few days. I did have something to post! :(

a sweet prayer

The night before last when I was helping Quinney say his prayer before bed he said the cutest thing!

Me: "Bless my lip that it will feel better."

Quinn thinking for a second: "bwess mommy's wip, it better."

:) What a funny little guy!

As for his lip, it is looking a little better, I guess. I took him to the doctor yesterday and he thought it looked pretty bad too but said that it would heal by itself most likely. The piece of skin that attached his lip to his gums got ripped off and became a dangling chunk of skin just above his two front teeth on his gums. Even if it doesn't med itself and re-attach, he won't need surgery to fix it because you don't really need that little piece of skin anyway. Maybe surgery to cut the chuck of skin off??? I don't know, I guess we'll just wait it out and see. As far as his teeth go, the doctor said it doesn't look like there is any nerve damage to his teeth roots so that's a relief. Come to find out, his gums turning white-ish in color was a good sign, the doctor said it was the new healing skin forming, phew! I was thinking just the opposite. Overall, Quinn has been a trooper! We hope it heals soon, it still looks pretty darn ugly if you ask me! :)

some exciting news :) and a sad story :(

Which should I start with first??? Mmmm, I'll guess I'll start with the exciting news!

And the exciting news is.....

Quinney is now binky free!!! Hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray!!! We are so proud of Quinney, he has done so well. It wasn't really planned, at least not until he wasn't sick anymore, but now it's done so we don't have to fret about it anymore. What a relief! Here's what happened, we were down to our last binky. I was being so careful not to lose it because I knew it needed to last us until we got rid of it for good, there is no way I was going to buy more! So, last week when it came time for bed we asked Quinn where his BB was. (that's what he calls it) Well, we searched and searched and searched for 30 minutes at least. The binky was no where, and I mean NO WHERE to be found. Like I mentioned before, I had planned on taking it away soon so I was prepared with a little somethin somthin. :) I originally was going to do the "mail binky fairy" idea where you make a box, put the binky in it, set it out for the "mail fairy" and the next morning you go out and the binky is gone but the fairy leaves something special for your child. I had already gotten Quinney something special, a snuggly (a really really soft 12"x12" blanket thingy that we call snuggly) to put in the box. When we couldn't find the binky, Justin and I had to pick between two choices: #1 I could run over to Wal-Mart, buy another binky and save the day, or #2 I could offer him the snuggly in place of his binky. We chose to try number two. To our much anticipated surprise, it worked. He went right to sleep without even a peep. Wahoo! He has asked for it a few times since and I just tell him, "it's lost remember, now you have your snuggly to sleep with instead." A sad "o-ta" is what he usually replies with. We are so happy that he is doing so well without his best buddy, his BB. Way to go Quinney guy!!! My only concern now is that we have not, let me repeat that, we HAVE NOT yet found it. I have no idea where he would have stashed it, Justin and I have searched this house high and low several times trying to prevent a disaster from happening, which would be, Quinn finding his long lost BB and thinking he could just pick up where he left off. Please NO!!! Anywho, we are celebrating the present and hoping and praying that we find it first before he does! :)

Good-bye BB, good-bye!

Now onto the sad story.

On Sunday evening Avery and Quinn were just playing around as usual. Quinn tripped on a pillow and crashed his face right into one of his very hard toys. To make a long story short, his nose started bleeding, his mouth started filling up with blood and then I discovered a huge gash/hole under his top lip right where that skinny piece of skin attaches your lip to your gums. His top lip started swelling up immediately and you can imagine how big it actually got! Poor thing, it was bleeding so bad. We finally got it to stop bleeding and got Quinn calmed down. I wanted to take him to the emergency room, it really looked yucky, but I called my Mom and she said she didn't think they could do anything, like stitches, inside your mouth unless it went all the way through. So, using my better judgement, I decided not to traumatize my child more by taking him to the emergency room where I'm sure we'd have to wait forever just to have them tell me they couldn't do anything. I've tried not to look at it too much because it causes him pain, obviously, and it's still pretty swollen, but yesterday morning it seemed to look a little better except his gums above his right front tooth, they looked horrible. They were all dark red and dark purple and looked seriously painful, although he seems to be dealing with the pain quite well. Today however is a different story, when I looked at it, I was so sad. It looks so painful and that skinny piece of skin I was talking about is practically non-existent. There is a chunk of skin/fat that is hanging down in-between his two front teeth. (he has a good sized gap, always has:)) And the gums above his right front tooth are white now, probably not a good sign! It looks ugly! I tried to get him into see the doctor today with no such luck, hopefully tomorrow. I'm just worried that his little mouth is going to have permanent damage, poor little thing! Wish us luck!
