A boy named Jack.

For Family Home Evening last night, Justin told the kids a story about a boy named Jack.

Jack really, really liked to play video games.  He would play all day long if he could.  He loved playing so much that when his Mommy asked him to turn it off and come and do his homework, he whined and complained and didn't stop playing.  A few minutes later, his Mommy asked again.  Jack whined and complained some more.  "I don't like doing homework!  Can't I just finish this game?"  Jack went on and on.

Look at Quinn's face.  He was wide-eyed and shocked that Jack would act that way.

Little did my Quinnaford know, when Justin was saying Jack, he really meant Quinn!  haha!  He caught on at the end though when Justin asked him if he had ever reacted like that when Mommy asked him to turn off the wii and come do his homework -- then it all clicked!!  ha ha!

Justin finished the lesson by explaining that it's better to do everything in moderation.  A little of this and a little of that, instead of, a lot of this and none of that.  We have to have balance in our lives to be healthy and happy.

It was a good reminder for all of us.  The whole family learned a good and valuable lesson.  And, I'm happy to report, when I asked Quinn to turn off the wii and come do his homework today, he did just that, with no complaints.  That's my boy!

Mr. Wet-Pickle-Pants

This kid can not go one night without leaking out of the top-front of his diaper, I swear!  Sheesh!  It must be the way he sleeps on his belly.  The entire back half of his diapers are usually bone dry.  And, if you haven't noticed, crib sheets are not the funnest to change either.  Double sheesh!

I stood him up to take his wet jammies off and he just looked so darn cute standin' there in his crib.  He looks like such a big boy!

His cute little chubby hands holdin' on tight to the bar are to die for!!

What a little cheezer!!   My darling little baby boy!

"I want a picture with Levi standing in his crib!!"  "Oh, me too!  Me too!"

Alright.  But just one.  :)

Fort! Fort! Fort!

Last Saturday I came home from my girls weekend to this.
The worlds biggest blanket fort.  :)

Daddy let them watch a movie and eat dinner in the fort too.  They had so much fun and loved every second of it!  A sneaky game of spies was played for the rest of the evening until it was time to take it down.

I spy a baby...

What fun.  I'm so glad my kids have such a fun and playful Dad!

another attempt

I attempted to get a picture of  Levi's cute tucked lip again but missed.  Again.  His bottom lip is still kind of sticking out but his top lip isn't tucked anymore.  Darn it!  One of these times I am going to get it!

See his expression starting to change in the pic below?  He saw the camera!  ha ha!

And there's that sweet, happy, adorable, toothy grin!

It kind of turned into a family photo shoot...
"I want to take a picture, can I take a picture of Levi?"
"That's not fair, she got to take two pictures, can I take another picture?"
"Take one of me and Mom!"
"I want one with Daddy!"
"Hey, I didn't get one with Mom!" etc. etc. etc.

Let's just say, a lot of pictures were taken.

The End.

Best Babysitter

Seeing me after my latest incident, you would have mistaken me for an 80 year old lady.  I am certain of it.

I couldn't walk, couldn't stand, couldn't sit, couldn't lay down, couldn't get up, couldn't pick Levi up, couldn't carry Levi, couldn't move, couldn't pick my nose, HA! just kidding, but if you can believe it, the list goes on and on.

Since when do 32 year olds throw their back out doing, well... nothing.  Absolutely nothing!!

Since I had strep throat, a double ear infection and pink eye at the beginning of the new year {yes, that's right, all 3 at once -- this has been an awesome year so far :/ }, my fitness goals got put on hold.  When I was finally feeling better from that, I started up my exercise routine.  Because of my lovely exercise induced anaphylaxis condition I developed a few years ago, I can't do anything real vigorous that will make my heart rate get to high or I will have a severe allergic reaction.  SO LAME!  It's fun to try and lose weight when you're basically allergic to exercise, let me tell ya!

Anywho, I pushed myself as much as I dared on the ole' treadmill downstairs but felt fine afterward.  As the day went on, I started having a little pain in my lower back.  After I made and got dinner in the oven it was hurting worse so I sat down on the couch until dinner was done and the oven timer went off.  When I went to get up, I couldn't.  It hurt SO bad to move.  So weird!  I got down on the floor and did a few stretches to try and make it feel better but by the next morning, I could hardly even walk.  I was in major, major pain with no relief no matter how I moved, sat, stood or laid.  I was trying my hardest to get the kids ready for school when finally the pain in my back was so severe that my legs gave out and I flopped to the floor.  I scared Avery and Quinn half to death.  They were so worried about me, they thought I was dying.  Poor traumatized kids!  Sheesh!

Needless to say, I've had a not-so-awesome last few weeks.  Many trips to the chiropractor {which I've never had to go to before in my life}, lots of stretching, lots of icing, lots of praying, and I'm finally feeling like I don't have to be an 80 year old anymore.  The chiropractor said it was probably a number of things added together that caused my back to go out.  One of which was weak stomach muscles from my two c-sections -- and one of the two being done only 9 months ago.  Dang you c-sections!  I can trace all my problems back to those darn c-sections!!  :)

The kids were so good to help me with Levi and do as much as they could by themselves without help from Mom.  Quinney LOVED taking care of Levi and was the best little babysitter.  He carried him around, played with him and even fed him sometimes.

Levi rather enjoyed all the attention and the extra TLC he was getting from his big brother.  He basked in happiness the whole time!

Snow Day!

Hayzen celebrating his mario cart victory!

Well actually, the kids were out of school because of a teacher prep day but, if they would have had school, it would have been cancelled -- all the other schools around us were.

We spent most of the day all day in our jammies, ate a picnic lunch on the family room floor, played the wii, read books, did puzzles, made cookies and took silly pictures.

He loves to watch the kids play the wii!

We had a jolly good day!!

Houston, we have a problem...

My little Levi does the CUTEST thing with his lips.  He sucks his top lip in and his bottom lip sticks out.  I love when he does this and I have tried many, many times to get a picture of it with no luck.

The problem is, every time I get the camera out, he smiles.  He can't help it -- he sees the camera and he automatically starts grinning!

Now, that isn't so much a problem, per say.  I do love his sweet, happy smile but I'd really like to remember his cute lip-tuck too.

My attempt this time...

Epic FAIL!
Again.

Four little Owls

Because I can't stand how darn cute these kids are in their owl hats. . .

Avery and Quinn playing the Wii, Hayzen playing the iPhone and Levi playing with his new remote.  Classic!

"Can't you peel your eyes away for just one picture!!"  ha ha!

"Thank you!"

Love the intensity in their faces while they play the Wii!  ha ha!

"Owl" love you forever my sweet kids!

Snow Fun!

It snowed three days in a row after Christmas.

I don't know why it can't snow like that before Christmas.

In my best Bing Crosby voice, "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I use to know. . ."

Anywho.  I guess it doesn't really matter when the snow comes, the kids enjoy it anytime!

And Daddy enjoys shoveling it.  Sometimes. :)
