We wanted to pick "Angels" from the Angel tree in the school office, but, when we went to pick them, they were all gone. So, we decided to donate to "Toys for Tots" instead.
The kids each picked out a toy that they thought someone their age would like. Hayzen had a little bit of a rough go at first,
he just couldn't grasp that the toy he was picking
wasn't for him to keep. :)
By the time Avery and Quinn had each chosen the perfect gift though, he was happy as could be to give the toy up!
We try to do something like this every year and it is always a memorable experience for the whole family. It reminds us of how blessed we are. Plus, I love feeling all "toasty inside" when we serve others and help those in need.

What a wonderful activity for the kids to think about someone else and what they might like. It is hard for little ones to grasp the concept of giving. I remember how hard it was for the little ones when it was someone else's birthday and they (the one whose birthday it wasn't) weren't getting anything.
