So on Saturday we had a Awesome 80's Girls Night Out! My Mom and sisters (all but Deanna, she got called into work) came down and we got all dolled up and headed out to eat at RED ROBIN. It was pretty rad, we were stoked! Everyone was totally checking us out, obviously jealous of our good looks and sparkling personalities! :) After dinner we headed over to the Mall to go shopping and show off our totally tubular outfits. We got so many double takes it wasn't even funny. I think for most of the on-lookers it was a walk down memory lane with laughs and smiles but there were a few young'ns that just gave us puzzling looks and tried not to stare too hard. After the Mall we came back to my house and watched "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." Like, it was like, fer shur one of the like, best nights of my, like life!!! :) :) :)
Here we are, meet Heather, Deb, Tiffany, Tracy, Candy and Cassie! (our 80's names for the night) Aren't we so cute?
Some dweeb made a comment about my gnarly charm necklace, "take off hoser it's mine!" I'd say tube socks with pumps looks pretty wicked, who's with me?
Here's Deb showing off her awesome pink stir-ups, gag me with a spoon, who came up with stir-ups anyway?
Check out Heather's bodacious boots! What a Valley Girl!

picnic at the park
Yesterday we picked Justin up from work and went to a near-by park for a picnic. It was okay weather until we got there, then the sun hid behind the clouds and it was a bit chilly at times with the breeze but we had fun anyway.
After we ate our lunch we walked over to the pond to feed the ducks bread crust that we'd been saving just for the occasion. My kids won't eat crust on their bread but the ducks didn't seem to mind!
Besides the fact that we were almost attacked by this flock of swans, we quite enjoyed ourselves. As soon as they saw we were handing out bread they came a runnin'!!! I'm not gonna lie, it was a tiny bit scary! I feared for my children's lives. ha ha! :)
After our near death experience :) we headed back to swing and go down the slide for a few minutes before we had to take Justin back to work.
We can't wait to do this again, it's one of our favorite things to do when the weather is nice. And, getting to spend time with Justin in the middle of the day is an added bonus!

First signs of yummy warm weather...
...cute colorful flowers are starting to bloom, and...
...bandages on scraped knees are making an everyday appearance!
Seriously, is it just my kids or does any one else have this problem too? Without fail, everytime we go outside one or both of my kids trip and fall on the sidewalk scraping up their limbs. Poor Quinn even scratched the skin off the top of his foot the other day, notice the bandage. And poor Avery, she fell so hard she scratched both her elbows, and the top of her nose off too. Over the next couple of days her nose actually scabbed over. :( I'm not complaining about being able to go play outside but come on, could you just pick up your feet children of mine!!!
