Mr. Turkey Lurkey

My lil Mr. is 9 months.

I can't believe it, time is just going too fast! I caught myself thinking about his first birthday a couple weeks ago: what should the theme be? what kind of cake could I make, or should we just do cupcakes? etc. etc. etc. There's nothing wrong with that because I do love to think about and plan a fun party, you know. But something about it made me sad. Not sad in a bad way, just sad in the realization that my baby is almost 1 year old, way. ...if that even makes sense.

It's just that pretty soon, before I even know it, he won't be a baby anymore and I want to savor every last day of his baby-ness before it disappears right before my eyes. So, no more thinking about or planning Hayzen's 1st birthday for a couple more months, is that clear?

"Mom, come see Hayzen's hair," I hear Avery say amongst her infectious giggle.

Do you think Avery wants a sister??? Oh you bet she does! She talks about having a sister on a regular basis and often times I have to answer questions like these: "Mom, when are we gonna have a baby sister?" or "What month is gonna be our baby sister's birthday?" or "When we have a baby girl next, let's name her Haze-l-ee, okay?"

Sorry to tell ya Sweets but you're not in charge of that department!!

I guess Quinney and Hayze will just have to suffer through their loving sister's ideas until they're old enough to tackle her and make her stop.....and/or out run her.





I can't blame her though, I mean, Hayzen does have the best head of hair for that sort of thing. (and the cutest face)

I heart Valentine's Day!

Really because two of my favorite colors are PINK and RED! ...separately or together! Walking into a store with red and pink galore everywhere makes me so so so happy! eeeeeeeeeeee! (for those of you who can't tell, I'm squealing with delight!)

Last night for our family activity we decorated these super cute Valentine cookies. I got this cute fun kit with everything in it, including 3 different colors of frosting, little heart candies, red and white sprinkles, pink sugar and it even included the cookies! Perfect!

Like a BiG BoY!

Last weekend was Hayzen's first time sitting in a high chair at a restaurant. Big step for me, I can't even imagine all the germs that I'm sure reside on one of those things, EEK! I always try to keep my babies in their car seats as long as possible when we go out, but it makes it a little more difficult to feed them their baby food. Yes, people stared at me like I was crazy when I started wiping the high chair down with anti-bacterial wipes, but I guess I'm used to it, that's how they all look at me when I wipe off the cart at the grocery store too! ha ha! Maybe they're the crazy ones, you ever thought about that? :)

He thought he was pretty neat, he was so happy to be sitting up to the table like a BIG BOY!


He absolutely LOVED when Justin gave him a taste of water from his straw. He would get so excited and start to smile and giggle every time he saw the straw comin his way! If Justin took too long in between sips, Hayzen would squeal and squeal as loud as he could until he got his sip. What a cutie!

In 2008 I did this questionnaire with Avery and it was really fun to hear her answers. Now that Quinn is old enough, I wanted to see how he'd answer the questions too. Of course Avery begged me to interview her again so Quinney's answers will be in blue and Avery's will be in pink. (sound familiar Penny?) :)

1. What is something mom always says to you? "not to mess up your decorations" "not to do stuff that I'm not told to"

2. What makes mom happy? "if you don't do something naughty.....if you do something naughty then you go to time-out" "if I listen"

3. What makes mom sad? "if you do something naughty then it make Mommy sad" "if I do wrong things"

4. How does your mom make you laugh? "if you do a silly face then it make me laugh" "by telling jokes"

5. What was your mom like as a child? "like toys" "you loved toys"

6. How old is your mom? "3 years old" "twenty one"

7. How tall is your mom? "you tall and I tall too" "10 inches"

8.What is her favorite thing to do? "play with toys" "get on the blog"

9.What does your mom do when you're not around? "get on puter" "go to grocery stores"

10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for? "for you" "that you will make famous papers for us"

11.What is your mom really good at? "really good at feeding Hayzee some puffs" "doing blog posts"

12.What is your mom not very good at? "not beary good at jumping" "lifting stuff"

13.What does your mom do for her job? "run and exercise" "take care of us"

14.What is your mom's favorite food? "mac n' cheese or beckast" (breakfast) "soup, and that's mine too"

15.What makes you proud of your mom? "when you do this" -insert Quinn making a silly face "when you let us do fun things"

16. If your mom were a cartoon character, who would she be? "mama" "Mickey Mouse"

17. What do you and your mom do together? "eating lunch" "sleep in your bed together sometimes"

18. How are you and your mom the same? "when you have these bracelets" -shows me the elastic around his wrist "by eating soup the same because we both like it"

19. How are you and your mom different? "when you get sick and you turn into a old lady, then you different" "that we don't have the same hair"

20. How do you know your mom loves you? "betause you like me" "because you say to me, thank you sweetheart"

Can you tell from their answers from the first three questions that we've been struggling with listening skills lately! How I can make them improve those skills I will NEVER know!!! ha ha!

I love how Quinney thinks that exercising is my job and that when I get sick I turn into an old lady, so funny!

Avery gave the same answer to question #4 as she did in 2008, funny because, I'm not aware that I tell many jokes! ha ha! It was pretty cute though how she said that getting on the blog is my favorite thing to do and that I'm really good at doing blog posts, she's definitely right about that! :)

Knight in Shining Armor

The other night, Quinn and Avery were playing upstairs in Avery's room. Quinn had the butcher knife from Avery's play kitchen and Justin asked, "why are you carrying around that knife?"

"It's not a knife, it's a soid." {sword}

"What's it for?" Justin asked.

"It's to be-tect Avery betause she turning into a princess!"

Quinn is truly Avery's Knight in Shining Armor! He's always protecting her and making sure she is safe. What a lucky sister!

Pure Pleasure

Her first crush.

(This is my cute Avery's kindergarten picture :)

This little lady came home from kindergarten last week and announced,

"I know who I'm going to marry when I get older!"

"Who?" I asked.

"I'll give you a hint, you went running with his Mom one time," she said.

"Grant?"

I was right, his name is Grant, he's in her class at school and she is smitten. I asked her if he knew she was planning to marry him, she chuckled and said, "no, I don't think so."

The next day she came home from school and was trying to teach Quinn this new fun game. I heard her explaining to him... "now you run and I'll try and kiss you!"

Uh-oh, should I be worried???
