Over UEA weekend we headed south to the heart of downtown Salt Lake for a night in the City. We got a screamin' deal on price line for our hotel which had a great pool and hot tub, plus it included a scrumptious continental breakfast. Can't beat that!
Friday evening after checking in we walked over to the Gateway where we ate dinner at the Sky Box Sports Grill. Yum-O! Their queso dip and chips are to die for BTW!! :)
After a little dining and browsing we walked back to the hotel for a little R&R in the pool and hot tub.
After breakfast the next day we walked over to Temple Square for a little look-sy in the Church Museum. It had a whole section in it just for kids with the theme "I Am a Child of God." Avery and Quinn had lots of fun exploring and doing all the fun activities.
Then we each took our turn giving our conference talks...
After the museum we strolled around Temple Square for awhile taking a pit stop on one of the benches to feed the babe before we headed home.
"And he did eat." ...ha ha, I crack myself up! :)
Aww, best little buddies!
What a great weekend!

The Beach @ Bear Lake
We went to Bear Lake over Quinney's birthday weekend and had so much fun! The lake was freezing but the kids didn't seem to mind. They played in the water, built sand castles and collected seashells. We also swam in the pool, played at the park and celebrated Quinney's birthday dinner at LaBeau's with raspberry shakes for dessert. Yum-O! What a fun trip!

Miss Pink Tomato
We entered Avery in the Miss Pink Tomato contest for our town Labor Day celebration, Tomato Days.
Here she is making her grand entrance onto the stage waving to the crowd. (sorry this pic is so dark)
The contestants had to wear only their swimming suits. Make-up, hair bows, glitter or props were not allowed. I thought to myself, "who would put make-up on their 5 year old for a silly little contest?", but after I saw several of those Mom's spraying their kids' perfectly curled hair with 6 gallons of hair spray and coaching them on what to say just before they went on stage, my question was answered! LOL!
Here was her shining moment! They asked her five questions and she answered them all like a true beauty queen. Of course when the question, "what do you want the most?" was asked, her answer was, "world peace." What else would it be? :)
She got the ribbon for 3rd Princess and she couldn't have been more pleased with herself, her pink ribbon or her sack of goodies. Hooray for Avery!
Just kidding on the "world peace" thing but that would have been great, right?

He couldn't resist!
We went on a lovely Sunday drive and ended up strolling around the Salt Lake Temple grounds. Quinn decided he wanted to splash his hands around in the water.....
.....within a matter of seconds he was soaked! He even stuck the top of his head in the water to get his hair wet. Crazy kid! Of course he thought he was hilarious.
This guy finds Quinn just as hilarious as Quinn finds himself. Two peas in a pod these two are, best buddies!
And they look just alike too! :)

Hayzen's Big Day
I feel so blessed to have these three sweet children of mine. They bring such joy and happiness to me everyday. What a blessing it is to be a mother.
Hayzen looked so cute on his big day and he was given a beautiful blessing by his daddy. Thanks to all our family for coming and celebrating our little bundle of joy with us.
Not the best pictures by any means but believe it or not, these are the only two we took! Gasp!
I know I know, but with a house full of hungry people I felt the pressure to be a good host and get them fed. I had every intention to take some more pictures after we ate (and after my anxiety level dropped about 1600 notches) :) but that didn't happen either. Sigh.
That's okay though, I'll just have to get him dressed back up in his blessing day best and take pictures of him lookin' so cute! Fine by me! :)
