New Carpet -- yes please!!

We have been LOVING our new carpet!!
It actually feels like, well...  carpet!  ha ha!

The "contractors special" that was put in our house 6 years ago was struggling big time!  I'm not even sure it could be called carpet anymore... matted, frayed, traffic trails, ugly, too light, not soft, paper-thin pad... and the list goes on and on.  It was delightful, let me tell you!

The boys were such a big help when we ripped the old carpet out.  They were so cute working together, Hayzen would pull off the pad scraps from the staples and then Quinn would pull the staples out.  :)  They were excited to help and use "real tools"!

It happened to be Spring break so how do you keep 4 children occupied with no where to sit or play, nothing to play with, or no where to crawl for Levi while waiting for the carpet guys to install our new carpet?
Well, uhhhh....  I had to get a little creative!

Hayzen pushed Levi around in the stroller while Avery and Quinn rolled a penny back and forth across the ply-wood floor...

Hey, what can I say?...  It kept them occupied for a little while at least!

Drum roll please!!

It's so soooooft and puuuurdy and soooft!

P.S. There's a sneak-peak of our new paint too :)  I am pleased as punch with it, it's exactly what I was going for!  I just finished sewing my new couch pillows so a "family room make-over" post is in order I think, don't you?
Coming soon...  :)

#messmaker

Honey Bunches of Oats from the floor, anyone?

Rub-a-dub Dub!

Three boys in the tub!

She belongs on A&E!

Hoarding at it's best right here folks!
I usually don't let it get this far but I'm tellin' ya, it got like this within a matter of days!

I spy with my little eye... a baby!

Not only is my little Princesses room over-the-top messy, she has little collections of anything and everything hoarded ALL.OVER.HER.ROOM!  You name it, she's got it!

Some of the most disturbing my favorites are:
balled up wads of her hair from her hair brush... ???...
... uh..... I have no words!
empty toilet paper rolls, like 14 of them shoved under her bed
all the little edges of paper that's left when it's ripped out of a spiral notebook
old assignments/tests from school that I KNOW I had thrown away!

Aww, so that's what she keeps the empty toilet paper rolls for, decoration... :/

I thought it would be best to tackle the Hoarders room while she was at school.  About 4 hours later--I'm not even kidding!--I was finally done.

Ta-da!

There!  Nice and neat, just how I like it!!

I threw out a FULL garbage bag of junk.  A full bag!
Shhhhhh!  Don't tell Avery!

I was anxiously waiting to see how she would react when she saw it, I thought she might notice all the things that were missing
{ha ha, I'm so sneaky} and be sad/mad.  A bit to my surprise, her reaction was quite the contrary!
She was thrilled!!
YESSSS!  1 point for Mom :)

She said all sorts of cute things like, "you did this all for me?"  "thank you mama, I can't believe you cleaned my room for me!" "I love it, it looks so pretty now!" "I promise to keep it clean from now on!"

...and you know what?  My little Princess has kept her promise.  LOVE her!!

My favorite Nacho Party EVER

{sour cream}

Ha ha hHa ha haHa hA!
WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!!

I loved the added touch of the food tags I made and the best-of-the-best Nacho Libre movie quotes that Julie made and hung all over Mom's house! ---We're nerds but we have A LOT of fun & I love it that way!
Until next time folks!

*not pictured:
tomatoes -- "Why can't we ever have, just like, a salad?"
jalapenos -- "Pile drive to dee face!"

Super Smart!

A few of us Mom's in the neighborhood with 3 year olds, have been doing Joy School.  Hayzen loves his little Monster backpack and insists on wearing it every week.

Even though it's a mini backpack, it still looks huge on my little squirt!
But oh-so-cute!!

My funny little guy came up to me the other day and said, "Mom, you're sure smart!  How long will I be smart?" {meaning, how long until I will be smart}
I said, "You're already smart!"
He paused for a second and then said, "Why, cause I got my slippers on myself?"  Then he laughed and said, "Dad told me I could!"

I just love being his Mom!!

Two Tubes

Looks like Levi is following in his older brother Hayzen's footsteps...

My poor baby had to get tubes in his ears.  He looks so tiny in that big bed!

Patiently waiting with Mama...

Everything went very well and he wasn't too fussy coming out of the anesthesia either.

We had to be there super early for the surgery so he was really tired when we got home.  He drank his bottle and went down for a nap.

See the cotton ball in his little ear?  Poor baby :(
...but not before he played us a little song on the piano!  He stands on his tip-toes so he can reach the keys -- it is the cutest thing!

Fast asleep!

I can be a big boy too!

"I don't love..."

Last night, while Daddy was at his Elder's Quorum meeting, the kids and I ran to Children's Place to exchange a shirt for the right size.

On the way, there was an Ovation Hair Therapy ad on the radio.  Over and over again, satisfied Ovation Hair Therapy customers were proclaiming, "I love Ovation Hair!"

Behind me in the back seat I hear this little voice say,
"I don't love Ovation Hair."

I had to chuckle out loud!!  Hayzen is one tough crowd!  :)

He does love a lot of things though and my favorite is when he tells me, "I love you and I like you."

Show off :)

Lip tuck at it's best!

This little character is growing up way too fast.
He's so proud of his new found skill, he pulls himself up onto everything!  He'll be walking before we know it.

Slow down little cutie pants!  Stay Mama's baby forever!!
