Knight in Shining Armor

The other night, Quinn and Avery were playing upstairs in Avery's room. Quinn had the butcher knife from Avery's play kitchen and Justin asked, "why are you carrying around that knife?"

"It's not a knife, it's a soid." {sword}

"What's it for?" Justin asked.

"It's to be-tect Avery betause she turning into a princess!"

Quinn is truly Avery's Knight in Shining Armor! He's always protecting her and making sure she is safe. What a lucky sister!

Pure Pleasure

I made this dessert last night and
OH MY GOSH!!!

It's called Striped Delight and it is seriously heavenly!
You MUST make it, eat it and love it, immediately!

For a printable recipe and step-by-step instructions with pictures, go here.

***Note: the recipe says to put the crust into "an 8 or 9 inch pie plate", wrong-O! Put it into a 9 X 13 pan. (as the pictures show) You'll be happy you did, the more the merrier I always say! :)

Her first crush.

(This is my cute Avery's kindergarten picture :)

This little lady came home from kindergarten last week and announced,
"I know who I'm going to marry when I get older!"

"Who?" I asked.

"I'll give you a hint, you went running with his Mom one time," she said.

"Grant?"

I was right, his name is Grant, he's in her class at school and she is smitten. I asked her if he knew she was planning to marry him, she chuckled and said, "no, I don't think so."

The next day she came home from school and was trying to teach Quinn this new fun game. I heard her explaining to him... "now you run and I'll try and kiss you!"

Uh-oh, should I be worried???

this Guy + those chubby cheeks + that hair = IRRESISTIBLE

A date with the Family Fun Center

We took a little trip to the Family Fun Center earlier this week for a little arcade playing and bowling. It was pretty crowded so we let the kids ride this mini merry-go-round a few times while we waited for an open lane. They had so much fun on this thing we could have skipped bowling and called it a day! :)

Hayzen even got to join in on the fun!

One thing is for sure, next time we go bowling I'm going to tell the worker that I want the bumpers to pop up on my turn too, sheesh, I've gotten rusty over the years! I just might even go a little further and say that I will use the contraption that Avery and Quinn got to use to guide their ball down the middle of the lane too!

Anxiously awaiting the strike...

Quinn, and the contraption, got second place. Justin barely beat him!

Having a grand old time!

Justin came in first, Quinn second, Avery third and I came in dead last! I never thought I'd get beat at bowling by a 5 and 3 year old. Oh well, better luck next time! :) After bowling we let the kids play a few games and pick out a prize with the tickets they won. It was a fun day, we had a good time!

It must've been a good joke...

These two cutie pies have so much fun together! Quinn loves making Hayzen smile and laugh and always wants to be where he is. Hayzen LOVES the attention from his brother and giggles and smiles at him all day long!
Best little Buddies!

Joy to the World Christmas Night!!!

We spent the rest of our Christmas Day at my parents house opening yet more presents, eating yet more food (if that was even possible!) and having yet more fun playing games.

Presents from Grandma and Grandpa Thompson!

*Note: for the 3 of you that still look at my blog :), sorry for all the opening of presents pictures but it's my baby's first Christmas I have to document it, and plus..... "I can't stop once I've started, it stings." ha ha! I'm just sayin'! :) By the way, who can guess what movie that's from??? Anyone? Anyone??? Okay, now to the load of pictures!

Thanks Mom and Dad for all the presents! We had a great time playing games, having fun and spending the night too, we sure love ya!

Phew, I think I'm finally done with my Christmas posts. :) Hope everyone enjoyed Christmas as much as we did this year, I loved every minute of it!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Merry Merry Christmas Day!!!

After our fun morning at home we headed over to Justin's parents for a delicious Christmas brunch and had some more fun opening presents.

Gifts from cousins!

Gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Smith!

I thought it was funny, his present was bigger than him! :)

Holly Jolly Christmas Morning!!!

Christmas was SO FUN this year! I think my kids are at the perfect ages, everything about Christmas is just so magical to them. Watching their little faces light up after every single gift, no matter how big or small, was priceless, I loved every minute of it! I got all of it on the video camera but unfortunately forgot to take pictures until after everything was opened. RATS! But I got plenty after the fact so here are a few...

Perhaps the most exciting present Christmas morning was when the kids found a note from Santa on the tree that said,

"Dear Smith family,
I have one more surprise but it was too big to fit through the door so I left it in your garage. Merry Christmas!

Love, Santa"

How exciting is that?!?! Avery and Quinn ran out to the garage and found a box with a big gold bow on top, it was a TRAMPOLINE! Hooray!!! They can't wait to set it up.....in the Spring!

That sneaky Santa also left me a great surprise too that I had NO idea about! A little square box wrapped up in a huge box. When I opened it up it was the most gorgeous anniversary band I've ever seen!!! (insert giddiness and endless excitement from me here!) It fits perfectly with my wedding ring! I LOVE YOU SANTA!!! :)
